Seized equine / Donated equine / Surrendered equine are placed in foster homes. Often
surrendered horses have medical issues that require a lot of time and energy for treatments. Once
these horses' conditions are deemed stable enough for adoption they will be made available to
prospective adopters. The foster home will evaluate (with assistance of a trainer if necessary) the
training level and disposition of the animal to assist with the placement process. Approved foster
homes will maintain records of all vet, farrier, parasite, dental care provided for the equine. Only
approved veterinary visit costs will be reimbursed. All day to day expenses for the animal's care are
the responsibility of the foster home.
