Beau is a coming 8 year old, 15 hh Thoroughbred cross, bay gelding. He
was seized early in 2007 along with Blue, Majestic and Billy the Bully - very
malnourished and in need of medical attention. After several attempts at less
invasive procedures, he underwent a surgical procedure at the University of
Tennessee to help him retract into his sheath. His medical expenses were
well beyond VEA's financial limit policy allows but he is such a special horse

When Beau first came to his foster home in February, he had a body score of 1.
He was literally hair and bones. He appeared small and frail. Having made the long
road back from near starvation, now he is an impressive looking, muscled, shiny
horse. However, he had also suffered other neglect. He had an injury that had never
been treated and left him with prepucial paraphamosis. After many months of efforts to
rehabilitate the injury, one failed procedure and now an operation from UT Large Animal
Hospital in Knoxville, TN – He is finally seeing the green pastures at the end of this long
road he has traveled.
There were many expenses involved with Beau’s rehabilitation, but due to his age,
agreeable disposition and otherwise healthy outlook, VEA did not consider any
alternative other than helping him live a happy, healthy life. If you would like to be a

| EXCITING NEWS FOR BEAU!!! VEA was selected to provide the Demo horse for the First 2009 Parelli Celebration. Beau was selected and was the spotlight for the event held in Franklin, TN in January. At the end of the weekend Pat Parelli assisted in the selection process by interviewing the prospective adopters. After narrowing it to 4 possibilities, members of VEA took over and completed the interview process, choosing Beau's adopter.
